World University Games Update!

Hudson Irwin (SPC/GQHPC), Heath Thorpe (SPC/GQHPC) and Michael Tone (Gold Coast/GQHPC) made up the entire Australian team who travelled to Italy for the World Uni Games this month. With a strong performance from all the guys the team finished in 8th place with Heath qualifying for event finals on Vault and Michael qualifying for both the AA final and Pommel Horse event final. During the finals Both Heath and Michael were able to improve their positions with Michael finishing in 13th place in the AA final and 6th in the Pommel Horse final and Heath finishing in 6th place on Vault.

Junior World Championships Update!

James Hardy of (BGS/GQHPC) qualified for event finals on Vault where he finished in 8th place. The Men’s team finished in 12th place in the world ahead of New Zealand and Great Britain, an absolutely amazing effort by our Junior Men. 

MAG Open Levels Tour Team!

After the 2019 Australian Championships had wrapped up the final selection was made for the Junior and Senior Open Levels Teams heading to Hong Kong in January of 2020 to represent Australia. The Queenslanders selected are listed below.

Be Prepared - MAG Advanced Coaches Course

Are you planning on attending the upcoming Bundaberg based MAG Advanced Coaches Course on the 31st August & 1st September? PLEASE NOTE...

GQ strongly recommends that potential candidates have all their projects uploaded to their LMS profile for marking by Tuesday, 30 July. Projects go directly to Gymnastics Australia who send these to external markers. It will take up to two weeks for your projects to be marked. Candidates will only be able to enrol in the face to face coaches course once all prerequisites are complete, uploaded, marked and approved. Enrolments close strictly Tuesday, 13th August

Handy hint…Start the physical preparation project first! You will need to devise a physical preparation test, test a group of athletes, wait 4 weeks, test them again and then report on your findings. Use your 4 week waiting period to work on your additional projects.
